Caitlin and Nick – Liberty State Park engagement

Liberty State Park. It’s such a romantic place, one that reeks of history and hides in the fabric of it’s facade, a million treasured story lines. Not to mention, of course, that there’s that big green French woman there as well and who doesn’t like getting a glimpse of her from time to time. Right? So when Caitlin & Nick asked us to photograph their engagement portrait there, naturally we jumped at the chance. We always try to seize any opportunity to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. (That, by the way, encompasses pretty much everything). C’est la vie! We arrived at the old historic train station, on the riverside of the park, just a little bit early. Glancing around at that remarkable building and the old railroad cars, we began to slip back in time and our imaginations began to tickle us, right behind the shutter finger in fact. Wouldn’t it be nice, we thought, to do the photo shoot like a period piece, a sort of visual narrative that brings you back to a bygone time. Just then, we got a text message from the happy couple and reality began to set in; and minutes later, when Nick and Caitlin pulled up in a late model Accord, we were handily transported right back into the 3rd millennium. But all was apparently not lost because when they stepped out of the car… and we got a glimpse of what they were wearing… we realized that the four of us felt pretty much the same way about the place…. Kismet! We love when that happens. Well, here is their story (or maybe it’s our story). Anyway, as you look around, feel free to read between the lines, fill in the empty spaces and make up your own ending as well if you like. We did.
