Julie + Marcos, Huntingdon Valley Country Club wedding

The Huntingdon Valley Country Club, just outside of Philidelphia. You see, almost 15 years earlier, when our friends and neighbors Jen & Nash got hitched up in Stowe, Vermont, we had driven up to photograph that wedding as well. It snowed 16 inches that day, much to Jen & Nash’s delight! One of everyone’s favorite photos from that wintery day in 1999 has always been a shot of Nash’s young cousin Marcos Aliaga running up the church steps in a snowstorm to deliver the candles for the ceremony… just in time. It’s one of those things that get’s talked about, about once a year at parties and such. So now, fast forward to 2013 and there we were, shooting Marcos & Julie’s beautiful destination wedding! Here is the shot the I was talking about. It’s high speed film, at dusk, on a dark and snowy day… The look of our photography has changed quite a bit since those mostly black and white film days; but the mission remains the same! We love to try to capture a combination of beautiful portraits, meaningful still lifes and mostly, we love to try to capture those special moments, like a boy delivering a candle in a snow storm. We love all of these photographs from Julie and Marcos’ wedding day for just that reason… There are so many great moments in so many gorgeous locations; like the moment when this bride and groom saw each other for the first time before the ceremonies began; like the look on their parents faces as they walk their child down the isle or the moments when Marcos’ cousin Nicholas sang to he and his mother from a balcony in the grand ballroom as they danced. Julie and Marcos provided all of those striking locations & great moments for us and so, they of course deserve a big part of the credit for these beautiful photographs of their day. But we have to give some credit as well to Fate and the intricate way that a meaningful event which happened some 15 years ago has lead to Liz and I being present for another important family event, just this past year. For all of this, we are very thankful… ]]>
